SM7BAU

In 1953 I got my first license as a ham radio operator with the callsign SM7BAU. Since then I have had many tens of thousands of radio contacts with ham radio operators all over the world.

This poor photo shows the 500 W transmitter and homebuilt receiver around 1958.
Over the years my technical knowledge increased as well as my income. For many years I used the maximum legal power and a tower with a turnable directional antenna on top of it.

But when we moved to our present home I had to invest in new modern equipment with much less power and a less conspicuous antenna.
I am still sporadically active on the amateur radio bands but email has taken over a lot of my communication needs.

There are many websites about amateur radio!
Let me just mention the link to our Swedish nation wide association
